Introduction to Junk E-mail
Identification of Junk E-mail - Spam Filter and White List Filter
The Junk E-mail feature initial settings provide a high level of protection by use of a spam filter. This filter will identify and divert junk e-mail messages to your previously selected folder.
TimeMaker is also equipped with an optional White List Filter. The White List Filter screens allows all incoming messages sent from any sender contained in your Contacts, thereby reducing the possibility of identifying legitimate messages as junk e-mail. The White List Filter is activated by default. Deactivate the Junk E-mail feature White List by unmarking the “Select my Contacts as White List” check box.
Filtering Priority
The order in which your messages are evaluated for junk status depends upon the number of recipients to whom the message has been sent. If a message is sent to you as the single recipient, the message will first be checked against your White List, and then the spam filter. If the message is sent to you as one of multiple recipients, it will first be evaluated by the spam filter, and then checked against your White List.
Mark Junk as Read
A junk message marked as “Read” will not appear in bold print as a newly received message.
